Celebrating Generosity: St. Nicholas Dinner Raises More Than $20,000 for the Anne Germond Legacy Fund
The Diocese of Algoma extends heartfelt thanks to the Deanery of Thunder Bay–North Shore for hosting a remarkable St. Nicholas Dinner on December 5. Through extraordinary generosity and community spirit, the event raised $20,086.13 in support of the Anne Germond Legacy Fund
The evening was filled with warmth, fellowship, and the joy of gathering with Archbishop Anne, who deeply appreciated the opportunity to visit with so many people. A total of 112 guests attended, making the night both vibrant and memorable.
The success of the silent auction was a testament to the creativity and thoughtfulness of the community. With 35 donated items, the auction raised $3,050.00. Direct donations contributed an additional $12,447.55, bringing the total to the inspiring figure celebrated that night
This generosity has a lasting impact. At a 5% rate of return, an investment of $20,000 will yield $1,000 annually to support the Office of the Bishop of Algoma—helping to ensure stable, local episcopal leadership for the work of God’s people across the diocese
We are also grateful to the Current River Community Centre for its hospitality and support, which contributed significantly to the success of the event
