Anne Germond Legacy Fund rises to $1.5 million as congregations across Algoma rally in support
The Anne Germond Legacy Fund continues to grow in strength, supported by the generosity of parishes, institutions, and individuals across the Diocese of Algoma.
When the Diocese last reported on the Fund in December 2025, its value stood at approximately $1.2 million. Since then, the Fund has continued to grow through new gifts, a significant anonymous donation, and market gains on invested funds.
Since that last update, $46,500 in new donations has been received from parishes and individual donors across the Diocese.

Recent parish gifts have come from Christ Church, Sault Ste. Marie; Christ Church, North Bay; St. Brice’s, North Bay; St. Mary’s, Nipigon; Christ Church, Lively; St. Peter’s, Elliot Lake; Holy Trinity, Little Current; St. John’s, North Bay; Holy Trinity, Sault Ste. Marie; and, most recently, Church of the Epiphany, Sudbury.
The Fund has also benefited from a generous $20,000 anonymous donation received during this period.
In addition, the Diocese has received an anonymous donation of $200,000 that has been applied to the Anne Germond Legacy Fund. Together with market gains on the Fund’s investments, these contributions have brought the Fund’s current value to approximately $1.5 million.

Every gift, large or small, is an expression of faith and hope in the future of our Diocese, and I am profoundly thankful to everyone who is helping to build this legacy.”
The continued growth of the Fund reflects both the generosity of donors across the Diocese and a shared commitment to strengthening ministry for the years ahead.
