A Message from the Co-Chairs

The Anne Germond Legacy Fund

Mark Twain once remarked, “It is not the things which I do not understand in the Bible which trouble me, but the things which I do understand.” One of those is Jesus’ clear instruction to “go and do likewise” after telling the story of the Good Samaritan. That story reminds us that we are called to a love that crosses boundaries and reaches outward—especially to those on the margins.

As Pope Francis has said, “The true order of love… is that which we discover by meditating constantly on the parable of the Good Samaritan—a love that builds a fraternity open to all, without exception.”

It’s in that spirit that we are proud to serve as Co-Chairs of the Anne Germond Legacy Fund.

We want to share our hope that the Church in the Diocese of Algoma can continue to support the needs of the poor, the ill, the lonely, and all who are less fortunate beyond our lifetime and yours. To do that, we need lasting, visionary leadership: a Bishop rooted in the life of the diocese, supported by a well resourced office, and equipped to carry the Church’s mission into the future with courage and compassion.

Building that future will require time, talent, sacrifice, and generosity. But we believe the investment is worth it—and we hope you will too.

Together, we can strengthen Algoma’s witness now and for generations to come.
